For a little more than a week I went to explore the Black Forest. I was accompanied by my wonderful girlfriend. We packed my car full with all the necessary things for camping and headed for Heidelberg on the German highways.
As you can see from the pictures, Heidelberg has proved to be the right choice for a stopover. On two days we explored the city and also visited the historic Heidelberg Castle.
The Black Forest is truly beautiful, but the mountains do not seem as high as I hoped. My hope of single mountains was not fulfilled. Instead, I was surprised by the many grazing animals that were eating along the way.
In order to complete the vacation mentally as such, it was spontaneously decided to cross the nearby French border and take a day trip to Strasbourg.
A walk in the inner historical center of Strasbourg is recommended. There are many small stores in narrow streets. If you like good food, you will not be disappointed in Strasbourg. But keep in mind, the majority of restaurants take a break in the afternoon.
After more than 1600 km in the car we are back in the north of Germany, remembering what we experienced and what we learned on the campsite.
